- God's anointing highlights His protection, not the absence of accountability. This verse speaks to God's care for His people, not a shield for leaders to avoid scrutiny.

- Leaders are called to accountability. No one, regardless of their position, is above correction or rebuke according to Scripture.

- Both shepherds (leaders) and believers have a responsibility to rightly divide the word of God. This involves careful study, seeking wise counsel, and being part of a biblically sound church community.
